I was born and raised on the North Side of Chicago. In 2003, I graduated from the Latin School of Chicago. I earned a B.S. in English Education and IL certifications to teach both middle and high school English Language Arts from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2007 and returned for an M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Learning Systems Design for Technology in 2011. I earned a Project Leadership Certificate in 2018 as well as a Business Data Analytics certification in 2020 from Cornell University.
